HISTORY
Goldens’ Foundry and Machine Company
Goldens’ History
Goldens’ Foundry began operations in Columbus, Georgia in 1882 as Goldens’ Brothers, founded by John Poitivent “Porter” Golden and Theodore Earnest “Theo” Golden. The apostrophe at the end of Goldens’ acknowledges both brothers.
At the beginning of 1889, Goldens’ Brothers was incorporated, with the financial support of Abraham Illges, and renamed Goldens’ Foundry and Machine Company. We have been in continuous operation at our Columbus, GA facility since then.
In 2007 Goldens’ acquired a second facility in Cordele, GA and installed a modern Savelli Formimpress mold line there.
We are now entering the fifth generation of this family owned and operated business.
140 Years of Manufacturing
History & Tradition
Goldens’ is a value-add manufacturer of cast, machined, and assembled components for the capital and durable goods industries. The company traces its roots through George Jasper Golden, an original incorporator of Columbus Iron Works, dating from 1846 as one of the oldest chartered companies in the United States.
Today, with 200+ highly valued and skilled employees at its Columbus, Georgia location, Goldens’ produces value-added components for medium to heavy trucks, off-highway construction equipment, agricultural equipment, power transmissions, pumps, compressors and industrial valves.
We are now into a third century of operations. Our company has withstood much over these many years, because of loyalty to a basic precept of the founders: the customer must be put first.
We continue this strong commitment to quality in all of our operations. Nothing leaves a production area unless it meets the customer’s specifications. Our ISO-9001 certification is a validation that we maintain and uphold the quality assurance program we have established.
Goldens’ today is the result of the pride of history and the progress of vision. Combining a legacy of industry leadership with today’s technologies and techniques, Goldens’ continues to provide the highest quality and cost-effective cast, machined, and assembled components to customers worldwide.
